Journal of Family Practice Site Files PRIVACY STATEMENT
The mission behind THE JOURNAL OF FAMILY PRACTICE Web site is to provide fast, easy access to peer-reviewed, evidence-based information that advances family medicine. Our target audience consists of family and general physicians and residents, as well as professionals in related fields.
Access to jfponline.com is restricted to subscribers. Users have free access at any time to article archives and other information posted on the site.
We respect the privacy of everyone who uses this site. We do not, sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose any personally identifiable information collected at this site to other companies, organizations, or physicians. Should Quadrant HealthCom Inc. decide in the future to share such information with a third-party organization, a statement to that effect would be prominently posted on each of the various forms located throughout this site.
Use of this site is evaluated on an ongoing basis to gauge its popularity and effectiveness. As part of this process, no individual users are ever identified. Likewise, information gathered via our user survey is reviewed solely by JFP staff and used in the aggregate to gauge the site's usefulness and ultimately enhance its content.
All information garnered from the user service forms located throughout the site is used solely for the purposes stated in those forms. For example, in our user service forms, phone and fax numbers and e-mail addresses are requested so that we may confirm, check or ask questions as necessary about your order. As stated earlier, JFP does not share this information with any third-party agent or organization.
The JFP circulation department gathers professional information from physicians and other users applying for free subscriptions to the publication. Italicized questions in the online JFP subscription form must be answered in order to qualify for a free subscription. This information is used in the aggregate for marketing, editorial planning, and postal auditing purposes. Aggregate subscriber information is audited by BPA International, the nation's leading circulation auditing firm, in order to verify the magazine's claimed circulation. The information, however, is not shared in any way with any other outside companies or consultants.
Content published within this site that contains patient information is subject to patient privacy and anonymity standards that are strictly enforced by JFP's editorial board and staff.
We do not respond to specific queries from patients about their health or medical conditions, nor should any of the information contained within this site be construed as medical or legal advice. Patients with questions about their health should consult a licensed physician.
JFP does not assume responsibility for the privacy policies of organizations whose Web sites are linked to our site. Users should consult those sites or their parent organizations for information on the privacy policies that govern those sites.
We welcome your feedback. Feel free to contact us with questions or comments about our privacy policies, or about the JFP Web site in general.
